Google rolls out AI Overviews ranking transparency for site owners
Google Search Central added a new AI Overviews performance view inside Search Console, letting site owners see which pages are cited in AI answers and how that traffic compares with classic blue-link clicks.

Google has added an AI Overviews performance report to Search Console, giving site owners direct visibility into which of their pages are being cited inside AI-generated answers.
What happened?
Search Console now exposes impressions, clicks and CTR for queries where your URL was cited in an AI Overview — separated from the classic web results data.
Why it matters for businesses
For the first time, brands can measure 'generative visibility' the same way they track organic rankings. Pages that earn AI citations build authority loops that protect long-tail traffic.
How businesses can use this update
Filter Search Console for AI Overview impressions, identify cited pages, and double down on the formats that win — direct answer paragraphs, comparison tables and FAQ blocks.
Pacewalk expert note
We build AEO-ready pages with question-led H2s, schema, and concise direct answers so clients earn AI citations consistently, not occasionally.
